It seems I have a problem with my blank cd's mounting, preventing me from burning anything. I'm using linux mint, anyone know a solution?

You can not mount any blank CD or DVD because there is no filesystem on it, until you burned data on that CD.

So you have to start the CD-Burning programm, e.g. K3B, put the blank CD into the CD/DVD drive, select the files, you want to burn and start the burn process.

What's Ubudo?

Of course your blank CD is going to be mounted, if it's not, it means it's not being recognized. Assuming you're running a modern version of Mint, go to Start > Multimedia & select K3b. If it's an older version, select Brasero.

I have tried them both, neither of them can read the disk, they say its not local.

When I pop in a unused CD, an icon comes up on my desktop that says "Blank CD-R Disc". If I open K3b, it says "Empty CD-R medium". If I click on the "Blank CD-R" desktop icon, it opens "CD/DVD Creator - File Manager".
