Specs: Windows XP
Hi, I am trying to fix my computer and I have run into a problem. I cannot write while booting dos off a floppy. While flashing the bios, I got this image:

(This is a picture I took of the screen)

If anyone could tell me what this image means, I would really appreciate it!

I suppose the first question that should be asked is why you are flashing the BIOS at all. A BIOS flash is serious business and should only be done when the updated BIOS was specifically designed to resolve a problem you are having. Otherwise you are simply taking unnecessary risks.

If a BIOS flash is really necessary you must be certain that it was designed for you hardware or it is almost certain to fail.

In addition, I suspect you may be using a USB keyboard (which may or may not be supported in your BIOS---you'll have to check) and the drivers are being loaded by XP. Since you're not getting to Windows when booting from a floppy, I'd guess your drivers are not being loaded. If that's the case, either use an AT or PS/2 keyboard when booting this way.

Additionally, I'd agree with LMiller7. Only update the BIOS if it is to resolve a specific issue with your machine...
