Solved Can't turn on the PC.

May 21, 2012 at 05:30:02
Specs: Windows 7, i7 @ 2.66 GHz / 6 GB
I can't turn on my PC. When I plug in the power cord the lamp on my motherboard blinks on and off, usually it just stays on with power supply(motherboard is P6T). The fans don't move the slightest with power cord attached, though when I disconnect my PC from power the fan moves slightly for few times.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be the cause of this and can it be fixed home?

✔ Best Answer
Swap the PSU.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.

I presume that's the best option. If computer still doesn't turn on the motherboard must be dead, I guess.

If you replace the power supply, make sure to get a good one. It should be at least 400W, 80 plus certified, have a single +12v rail, active PFC, & a 3-5 yr warranty.

Well, PSU is fine, motherboard is dead, though. It will have to get a new one. Anyway, thanks for your time.
