Specs: Ubuntu, 512
Do you have a fast solution, or is there some place I can read from (I feel like asking for googling for me but it's my first question here)

This depends on the mainboard of your computer.
You have to read the supported RAM options for your mainboard in the manual of the mainboard.
If it's an older one, some of them do only support 768MB of RAM.
Some do only support 512MB of RAM.

All these things, you'll find in the users manual of the mainboard.
If you haven't got the manual, download it from the manufacturers homepage.

The density of the modules comes into play as well. Post some specs or model numbers for more specific help.

"lubuntu" will solve a hardware problem?

We need to know the exact model number or motherboard and the exact memory chips being used.
