Specs: Windows XP, 4200+/3gb
Can't install max ram 4GB (4 x 1gb memo chips). Will work using 3GB (using 2 x 1gb and 2x 512 mb chips). Specifications say 4 x 1GB chips should work. Get windows errors on boot.

1st of all, you're apparently using the 32-bit version of XP so the most you're likely to see out of that 4GB will be about 3.5GB, maybe less.

2nd, if you're getting errors with 4GB, either the RAM is bad or the memory settings in the BIOS are way out of whack. Test the RAM with memtest86+
