Solved Can't get tv/monitor to work with HP a1410n.

June 27, 2013 at 00:36:39
Specs: Windows 7, dual core/ 2gb ram
Got the HP a1410n working and was using a 19" Magnavox tv/monitor and it (the pc) recognized it (the tv) right away. So I moved the HP a1410n to other room and hooked it to a 32" Element tv that I have used as a monitor with my laptop and other desktop before. Using the same VGA cable. Problem: Boot PC and screen comes up but when it starts loading windows 7 the tv goes blank and says no signal. Spent about an hour trying different things than gave up. What might be causing this? Thanks if you can help.

✔ Best Answer
Did u fix the memory problem?
Try to enable low-resolution video (640 x 480) by tapping F8 key when u start the system & then use the native resolution of the TV.

Well no on the memory. Put the one 1gb stick back in the pc I took it out of and it would not boot so somewhere between removing the two 1gb sticks from a working pc to trying to install them in the HP one stick doesn't work now. ??? But I will try you suggestion on the TV later. PS I don't use a static strap but I stand on a concrete floor and work on a wood workbench and always touch the case before I go inside. Do you think I could have damaged the stick doing it that way? Thanks and still learnin.

I never used antistatic wrist strap before, i only touch components on the edges.
I think the memory was on it's way out.
