This probably won't help but worth trying as it's easy:
Turn off computer and remove power cord. Remove main battery too if a laptop (seems like it isn't). Before re-assembling hold Power Off/On button in for about 20 seconds to discharge the motherboard components.
At odd times the above can unstick things. Assuming it doesn't help go to Device Manager and see if any errors are showing under "Sound, video and game controllers". Errors here usually have yellow icons.
I assume the problem was not after an upgrade to Windows 10.
