Can't Get 2048x1152 Resolution for my Dell Monitor

November 4, 2014 at 06:00:43
Specs: Windows 7
Im trying to set my screen resolution to 2048x1152, which is the recommended for my Dell Monitor.
My Video card is a Gigabyte Raddeon HD 6970. Updated drivers to latest version.

The higher resolution options I get are:
- 1920x1080
- 1920x1200
- 1920x1440
- 2048x1536
- 2880x1620
- 2880x1800

I also went to the adater properties to 'List All Modes'... 2048x1152 is not showing there.

Any ideas what I could try next?

Thank you very much in advance! :)

Please post the model/model number of your monitor. I'll take a stab at it & guess that it's a Dell SP2309W. Make sure to install the monitor driver & the latest available graphics driver from AMD, not Gigabyte.

EDIT: spelling correction

Hi riider! :)

Thank you very much for taking the time for this!

You are right. The monitor is the Dell SP2309W

I have downloaded the latest Catalyst Software Suite (14.9), which includes:
Display Driver ver. 14.301.1001
OpenCL(tm) Driver
Catalyst Control Center

I hadn't downloaded the Dell driver before. I did now, and there are 3 drivers:

I selected the HDMI, since I believe it's the name of the connector the monitor uses. I re-started the pc, and still the 2048x1152 was not showing. Did the same thing with the other 2 drivers (digital and analog), with no success.
I did check on the adater properties 'List All Modes' for the 3 of them.

I have windows 7 64 bits, new installation

Any ideas? :O

Thanks again for your time :)
