Specs: Windows 764 bit, Core i7/8gb
Got a Dell OptiPlex GX620 (small form factor)...the specs are Core2Duo cpu, Intel 945 (video/chipset) 120gb hard drive, 4gb memory and onboard sound. The person wants to play some higher-end video games so I suggested a low-profile pci express video card and then hence a more powerful power supply. I cannot find a small-form-factor power supply with higher wattage on the 'Net (after several 'Googles') or even at the Dell site. I think that it has a 250watt psu in it now and I would like to put a 350watt minimum psu in it for the more powerful video card. Help. All replies and opinions are greatly respected and appreciated.

✔ Best Answer
Swap the Dell hardware into a case that accepts full size graphics cards & standard ATX PSUs. And choose the video card carefully due to the motherboard's PCIe 1.0a slot.

Newegg.com shows this in their choices under power supplies on the left column:
ATX (19)
ATX / BTX (2)
ATX12V (137)
ATX12V / EPS12V (283)
Micro ATX (8)
Micro PS3 (2)
Mini ITX (8)
EPS12V (3)
SFX12V (9)
TFX12V (11)
AT (1)
Select a few and see if the dimensions are the same as the one you have, otherwise riider may have the better answer in the long run.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Be careful optiplex boards are hard to fit in standard ATX case.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.

Thanks for all of the replies. She took the computer back and I haven't heard from her all morning. She hinted at buying a new computer...don't know as of yet. Hopefully....end of story. I was hoping to use the 'change case' suggestion suggestion...but we will see.
