Can't edit a CD

Specs: Macintosh
How do I modify a CD-R? I have a Mac, and I copied a file by "drag-and-drop," but now it won't let me rename the disk or the folder. It also won't let me add anything new to it because it says it cannot be modified. Is there a way to fix this, or will I have to get a new CD? Thanks!

You cannot. CD-R stand for CD-Read Only. If you want to modify the disk you need CD-RW.

But I was the one to put something on originally. Does that make a difference?

Makes no difference. CD-R is write once and that's it. Make no difference who or what writes it.

If you used a cdrw, you could change things on it as far as I know.

I would copy the entire cd to a directory. Make your changes , then reburn to a new cd.
