Seems like you have a corruption. You can check the files like this:

Right-click on the Start menu or press Windows+X on your keyboard, and choose “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the Administrative Tools menu. When the little black box appears type sfc /scannow and hit Enter key. It takes a little while to run through.

If that doesn't help you could run System Restore, chosing a date/time before this problem came along (if there is a suitable restore point):

Note that you will lose any other system/program changes since that date, so best run Windows Update afterwards.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

We need to decide whether it is failing in the download stage or the install stage. If you are running it within the browser then it is not clear.

Are you downloading it as a file and Saving it? If not do it this way instead and let us know if the download arrives without issues. If so, double click the downloaded file and see if it fails at that stage (the install).

EDIT:
You posted in the hardware section. This is unlikely to be a hardware fault unless you are getting other symptoms - let us know if you are.

I guess the first question is what program are you trying to download from where.

The error message you're getting isn't related to downloading, it's related to installation.

"I have D/L this program several times in the past no problems"

Why are you continually downloading the same program? Also, I noticed you're running Vista. WHHHHYYYYY??????

So you actually Save the download AS A FILE first, then open it? If not try it.

Do you know anyone else who has installed this same download successfully?

RE #8
If it fails tell us exactly when it goes wrong.

Best category would be under Windows Vista but no matter - keep going on here now.

Supposedly it doesn't contain adware or malware, but I wouldn't trust it.

For the heck of it, try running Adwcleaner & JRT. Let us know if they find anything.

1. What happened when you tried to save the download file? I am still trying to determine whether this is a download or install issue, which is why I keep asking. The Download is Saving the file, The Install is when you try to run it (if you do it in two parts as I suggested).

2. JRT has NOT been discontinued. It will be supported until April 26, 2018.

PLEASE use full sentences not text ease and limit your abbreviations to common ones.
If you are reinstalling a program, make sure that you uninstall it first. Then restart the computer before reinstalling it. This clears remnants from the working memory and reloads Windows system files fresh from the hard drive. This should reduce or eliminate errors you are getting.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

JRT has not been discontinued (yet) but it appears Malwarebytes no longer has a download link.
Try this one: https://download.bleepingcomputer.c...

JRT can still be downloaded using the link in #10. It is just beneath the blue Forums button (says "click here").

EDIT:
I had trouble with the bleeping computer link.

OK, it's the install that is failing not the download.

Are your Windows Updates up to date?

Did you uninstall the program from Control Panel before trying to re-install it?

If it can't do it then I think we're stuck but at least it confirms there is corruption.

Try System Restore.
