Follow these steps:
Click Start menu and type in "adjust the screen resolution," then click on the "Adjust screen resolution" link > "Advanced settings" link > List all modes" button near the bottom. Now, you will see a screen resolution list available. It will be on default. Scroll down to the next option available to you and click the OK button, then click Apply. Your screen should go blank for a brief second and come back - and hopefully, it will be centered.

Make and model of monitor is essential here...

And confirm you are running win-10 with this monitor...

Was it ok until time of your post or has the problem always been present?

Although I don't know what causes this problem, it seems
to be quite common. I expect that they all have the same
cause, so they should all have the same solution.

Naheed's solution appears to assume that the problem
is with the video driver, so resetting the screen resolution
should fix it, That seems very plausible...

It's the disgronifier. It's always the disgronifier.

disgronifiers are frequently overlooked; mainly as they’re very difficult to find.

It's the cheap aluminum ones that are the problem. Spend a little more and get the platinum disgronifier, they never go bad.
