Can't boot Windows

Hewlett-packard / Pavilion f1703
June 6, 2009 at 09:39:14
Specs: Macintosh OS X/ Win XP
I installed Mac OS X on my partitioned hard drive. it
works fine. the problem is that i can't get into my
Windows now, when i try to boot from that drive it
says insert the disk. I can find all my files from XP on
the Mac part so they're not gone. i think maybe that it
turned my computer stuff into mac and can't read the
Windows software, but i don't know. how can i fix this.

I think you need to get a program called boot camp. At least you have access to your data. When I installed MAC OSX on my PC I used another hard drive. This is the reason why.

You need to be able to get into a command prompt (usually thru recovery console) and use the fixmbr commandline. But that's a last ditch item. I would google erd commander, there are a lot of sites that carry the old versions (03,05) that you can dl it from. I'd link to it but I'm on my bberry for a few days. Erd will let you do a system restore.
