Cant access the BIO's and no harddrive

Specs: Windows XP, 512mb
I suspected I had a virus, because along with many thing my internet won't work or if it did it won't go to the websites I searched and went to other websites also my virus scanners etc wouldn't update or allow me to install new ones. I managed to take off all the data I wanted to keep and was going to format it.

But when i've gone to turn it on, it starts to load up then says theres a disk error insert recovery disk and press enter the keyboard doesn't seem to work at this point as I can't press enter. If I leave it for about 10 mins with a a recovery disk in it loads up the installation screen for windows, but then tells me that there's no harddrive (yet my harddive is partitioned and these all still appear and say unknown disk) the keyboard does work though at this point.

When I have tried to reset and access the BIO or anything else it doesnt do anything.

Thanks for your time. The computer is a medion PC and is a few years old now.

I'm guessing you have a SATA HDD, if so, XP doesn't natively support SATA drives. You need to install the SATA drivers from a floppy disk at the start of the installation by pressing F6. If you don't have a floppy drive, there are a few other ways around it.
