Canon Pixma 6150 printing 90% blank page

January 8, 2018 at 07:44:48
Specs: Windows 10
I have just installed all new cartridges and now my printer is printing just a golf club logo at the top of the page (albeit very badly) but the rest of the document is coming out blank. In other words, just a poor logo at the top and nothing else on the page.

I have done all the maintenance checks, cleaned, auto aligned etc. etc. The printer won't even do a photocopy so I'm wondering what's wrong.

The PC is talking to the printer as it sends the document and all seems good there but just don't understand why there is no text on the page.

Can anyone help or advise, please? Thank you.

Maybe the print head needs replacing. Was the reason you changed the cartridges because of missing print or was it OK then?

Does it produce a file after scanning (photocopying) or do you mean it won't print it?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks for your reply. I am wondering if it's the print heads except that when I've done test messages from the printer, ie Windows Printer Test Page or the full page of different colours, it seems to work. Just doesn't like to photocopy now or print a document properly.

I hadn't use the printer for some time because of needing replacement printers. It was working fine before the cartridges ran out.

I am not familiar with your particular Canon model. That said, I used Canon BJ series printers for many years. When Having trouble with the print head, which is removable on that series, I would set it in the kitchen sink and run hot water into it from the top. When doing that the water turned various colors, as the ink was flushed out. That usually was enough to clear the print head. Sometimes I also soaked the head in isoprophil alcohol.

So, you verified the printer can print a color printer test page correctly then?
