Canon MX925 printing blank pages

Specs: iPad
Seems to be a common problem, is there a 'cure'? In my case, the machine seems to be printing/copying, but throws out blank pages. The inks are fine, I hadn't just changed any when the problem started. And I can't see how the print head is blocked, because all colours went together (5 cartridges). I've reinstalled the drivers and I did take the print head out, just to see, and it made no difference.
It seems to be a hardware issue, is there any weird cure that anyone has found.
I really like the printer.....

Try the print head cleaning instructions.
Clean the metal contacts on the print cartridges and on the printer with rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips.
Unplug the printer from the power and restart the computer. While the computer is starting, plug the printer in and turn it on. This will clear the printers memory and any cache the computer has and reload the print spooler completely. This has fixed many printer problems before.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thanks Fingers, I appreciate the help.
The second suggestion was difficult - my Mac boots up so quick, it was hard to turn the printer on in that few seconds. I tried it though, and no change.
I've just cleaned all the contacts with surgical spirit, and ran another deep clean. I also had to change another cartridge that had run low due to all the deep cleans. The print page at the end of all this didn't have a drop of ink on it.......
Not sure if it makes any difference, but just to confirm, it won't copy either (as in, blank page, like the printing), but will scan. Also, the different colour pads on the print head are moist.
I fear I'm looking at £120 for a new MX925?
