Canon MP170 photo printer making strange noises

Specs: Windows 7
My Canon PIXMA MP170 All-In-One Photo Printer has started making a lot of squeaking noises. Is this a problem? Printing is fine and I have done cleans and alignment.

Did you also clean the bar, where the print head is running on?
Hopefully you don't, cause it's greased to avoid such noises!!!

Belt noise? Like when a pulley locks up on your car engine?

No I didn't clean the bar. Don't know about the belt noise but it could be. Never had a pulley lock on my car engine.

I was thinking the belt might be slipping but thinking again, I doubt those kind will do that. And if it was slipping your printing would be all messed up.

In addition to what Paulsep said it might just be the noise the motor makes as it moves the print head back and forth.
