Solved Canon MG6821 printer won't turn on

May 12, 2019 at 13:05:38
Specs: Windows 10
I've tried all the fix advice help, but today I read that the printer head might be dried up, but when I try to manually slide the printer head to the left to access it, it doesn't want to move at all. Is that normal? or should it easily slide across? Also, I read that there might be a fuse saoimewhere in the unit. If so, how do I access it?
Thanks, Steve

Many Canon printer have to be powered up, and the cover (usually the scanner platen) lifted up (it’s hinged to allow). Then the printer head assembly which includes the ink tanks will slide into view?

This is where to download the manual:

The manual above is pretty hefty, detailed, and has assorted troubleshooting sections too

Your post is headed that the printer won’t turn on?

Is the power cord OK, and the wall outlet also OK.

Basic I know, but often overlooked...

You don't have to shift the print head by hand, it is automatic if the printer is working (as per previous post). In any event a dried out print head causes bad printing or nothing on the paper at all. It doesn't stop the printer from going through the motions.

Another thing to try is to completely power off the printer and unplug it for at least 10 minutes then try again (if you haven't already).

Some ideas here (not your printer but the principles should be the same):

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
