Specs: Windows 10, don't know
Hi, I'm just curious. I have old floppy disks and don't know if anything is recorded on them or not. I was just wondering if you can tape over them? Thanks

If there is stuff on the disks already, anything copied to them will be placed in the area not occupied by the preexisting files. You would need to reformat the disks to use the full space for new files.

Or you could delete whatever is on the disks to free up the space. However, old disks like that often develop bad spots. A reformat will mark those spots so they won't be used.

You're welcome. If any bad spots show up when I reformat old disks I just throw away the disk as I figure those are likely to continue to go bad.

Is it honestly worth it? For a few pounds you can buy a USB stick with the capacity of many thousand floppy disks.
