Did it ever work? Have you tried another monitor, or verified all the cables are seated correctly? More information would be good.

You haven't supplied enough info.

Is there anything being displayed on the monitor? Possibly "no signal" or something similar? If you just added s new graphics card, did you switch the monitor cable for the motherboard port to the video card port? Are you sure the computer's power supply can supply the needed wattage for the new card? Does the card require a 6-pin or 8-pin PCIe plug? If so, is it connected?

Are you using a DVI to VGA adapter to connect an old monitor to a modern machine or video card? If so then you need to make sure that the DVI port is a DVI-I (compatible) and not a DVI-D (not compatible with analog adapter).

If you just added a new video card to a machine that was running off onboard video you may need to remove the card, enter BIOS and set the PCIe port as the primary video port. The reinstall the video card.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

How do you know it's working if you see nothing on the monitor? If it's because you hear fans and drives spinning up and LEDs flashing, well that doesn't mean it's working as those can power up even if the motherboard doesn't.

As already mentioned, information on anything done to it since it last worked would be helpful.
