can not able to open my d dirve

Specs: Windows XP
i can not able to open my d: drive.if i want to it showing error that the disk is not formated do u want to format it.. even if i want to open it in ms dos it shownig data error <cyclic redundancy check>.. plz help me

We need a better explanation. Have you made any system changes or have you been having any problems prior to the error messages? What is the make/model/capacity of the HDD? Did you try running the manufacturer's diagnostic program?

ya i had re installed my windows xp and this is about my HDD , 80GB 7200RPM S-ATA HDD

Install SATA drivers for XP to 'see' it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

The drive most likely has bad sectors and is failing. If there is important data on it you should seek a professional data recovery service. If you just want to reinstall windows use another hard drive.
