Specs: Windows 7
I have 2 x 1gb abit and 2 x 1gb geil. Both brands are almost the same, both are DDR2 800 PC2 6400. But they have different timing, cas latency, and voltage. My question is, can I use these two different types of ram together and have 4gb total?

I wouldn't see why not. The timings don't matter that much. The voltages may be able to be adjusted in the bios if you have that setting. I would try it and see what happens. Worse case scenario is it won't boot. Don't exceed the highest voltage on the ram. I think it's 1.5 volts.

I've used mismatched brands with success thus far. However, I do make sure that I pair them up when putting them in the slots - AA has the same brand and BB has the same brand.

I'm learning.

To Dipsy Girl

But I don't think it will last more than a year. I had 2x1GB DDR2 PC6400 from SAMSUNG and 2x1GB DDR PC6400 from HYNIX, I paired them like you do. In the second year problem started to emerge, Blue Screen with message "IRQL or MEMORY MANAGEMENT" every 20 minutes or so. I did not really paid attention until it really broke my HDD.
Now I replace them with 2x2GB.
