If you install a hard drive from another machine, you need to undertake a repair install, it may request a product key and need to be activated....

How do I do a repair install, do I insert the installation disk into the DVD ROM and let the computer boot from there and then choose repair install instead of a completely new install? Do I need to change the order of booting in the BIOS so it boots from the DVD ROM?

Thanks for helping
