motherboard. Kinda think he's full of it but would

It has a Socket 939 board, so the processor can be upgraded. Nearly all Socket 939 boards support dual-core (X2) processors, but you have an OEM board with a custom BIOS. Before dropping in an X2, make sure that the board supports it. The fastest Socket 939 processors:
Single-core "vanilla" Athlon 64: 4000+ (will work, but is it worth the upgrade?)
Single-core Athlon FX: FX-57 (might not work)
Dual-Core Athlon: Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (probably would work; make sure the BIOS supports it)
Dual-Core Opteron: Opteron 185 (this is the fastest 939 processor, but the BIOS might not support Opterons)HTPC | Pentium M @ 2.82GHz, 2MB L2) | 4GB | 1.0TB | Radeon HD5750
Blu-Ray | Win7 Pro | HDMI out to Onkyo TX-SR707
