Specs: Windows XP
I've got 2gig Corsair DDR400 XMS ram in my system. I want to get 2 x 2 gig modules for the other slots. Do I have to buy the same or can I buy different brands and different modules, not XMS as long as it is DDR400 P3200 . Will it slow my pc down a lot?
I want to upgrade from XP to Win 7 Pro

You should match the ram you have now as far as specs go. The ram timings and voltage are important. The manufacturer is not a factor. If your going with windows 7, keep in mind only the 64 bit version will use that much ram. If you're going to use the 32 bit version, you should be fine with 2 gigs.
