can i install a pci card into a pci-e slot?

Specs: Windows 7, p4 3.0 with 4mb
I just got a HPE 480t pc with no pci slots. Can I install a pci wireless card into one of the pci-e slots?

You shouldn't even have to ask. PCI cards go in PCI slots, PCIe cards go in PCIe slots. If your board has no PCI slots, you're going to have to buy a PCIe wireless card or a wireless USB dongle.

Basically if it fits, it works. I don't mean force it but the slots should line up to allow or deny.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

I thought you may have misunderstood my comment on the first board I ever saw without PCI slots.

Actually, that wasn't a true statement. After thinking about it I realized that when I first started messing with PCs they didn't have PCI slots then either.
