Any laptop/desktop etc can be connected to a printer - one way or another...

Which model do you have - actually model details is always useful information to include in your CFH (Call For Help).

Also which printer do you have in mind;and do you want to connect via wifi, ethernet/cat-5 connection, or even usb?

And which OS (operating system) are you using?

Sounds like a Chromebook.

Not had my hands on one yet, but it seems you can't simply hook it up to a printer, as you would a conventional laptop.

You have to use Google CloudPrint and from there send it to a 'Cloud-ready' printer. To use a conventional printer, it looks as though you have to use a Windows PC or a Mac to act as a print server.

Unless the printer is so "olde" as not have any published drivers for the OS in use... then no reason for it not to?

Acer/Chrome model#??? is a little vague as to actual/specific model in the series; although a trawl around Acer seems to suggest there is just one model C720 ? There will be a label on (the base of) your laptop telling you the model number etc; and likewise the manual (hard copy or on a CD) will tell the same.

And again which operating system are you using on it?

The more specific and clear you are with information - the easier it is to secure a viable answer/solution to your CFH...

This is the starting point in your search for and from which to download the drivers for whichever OS you are using.

And from within the same site - this is where to start looking for a how to set up the printer...

Installing printers is very simple, but also follows a specific series of steps; and it's wise to read the manuals first and carefully follow the order of steps laid out.

It would be useful to know the exact model - as Acer appear to suggest only the C720 under that Chrome designation?

The model number will be written on the case of the Acer somewhere, probably underneath or at the back.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
