I bought 2 2TB WD Green WD20EARS hard drives for my system. Recommended by most, is to run WDIDLE3 and WDTLER.... However, to run these I must run DOS at boot, off a CD or USB flash drive, and neither hard drives are recognized by Caldera Dr. DOS. They are connected directly to the ASUS P7P55D-E Pro motherboard SATA ports.... Besides not being recognized in DOS, they run fine (except for their limitations which I am trying to rectify with these two tools...). What am I missing here? ;-) Is there some way to get these hard drives recognized?
Up to DOS 6 Only 2 Gig drives are recognized.
Your version of Dr Dos may be equivalent to Dos 7 but you're asking a lot for it to work with 1 TB drives. And there's no native dos sata support anyway. This:

seems to indicate you don't need to run those utilities in dos.

I followed the link, which was very helpful! I couldn't directly run the apps, so used the workaround of slipstreaming them into the Ultimate Boot CD. It worked like a charm, once configuring hard drives to ide and compatibility mode so the apps would recognize the hard drives. Thanks for the fast and helpful responses! =)
You're welcome. I'm glad it worked out. Real men don't use AntiVirus; they just reformat
