Specs: Windows 10
Hello there, i have a simple question, i'm going to buy a computer soon and i already got 2 old monitors laying around,
one has a VGA port and the other has an DVI-D Dual-Link and a vga port too.

The graphics card that im going to buy is an GTX 1050ti and it has a dvi-d port, a hdmi and a displayport.

I'm going to use a hdmi to vga converter for the only vga monitor.

Ive researched up a little bit ,and from what ive read, I can't connect both at the same because they send different signals being one analog and the other one digital.
Is this true?
Or will i have to buy a displayport/dvi-d dual link to vga converter?

Any help is welcome and appreciated.

VGA is analog. HDMI carries a digital signal only, DVI carries both digital & analog signals. To connect HDMI to VGA, you will need an active converter. Here's an example:

Except note that a DVI-I supports analog to VGA with a simple adapter but DVI-D does not and only supports digital. Look up the pictures of the connectors to tell the difference (DVI-I looks like it has an X between 4 of the pin slots).

If you get an active HDMI to DVI adapter cable the you can also get a Display Port to DVI adapter cable.

You can also look at different brand GTX1050Ti cards and see if any have at least a DVI connector or two (If 2 then one may be a DVI-I).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

✔ Best Answer
You can use both monitors without problems.
I have one VGA and one HDMI monitor connected to the same VDU card, no converters needed in my case.
If you need to buy active converters, make sure the VDU card can supply the voltage for the converter(s) to work.
