Specs: Windows 12.07.2009
c hard drive is maxed. would like to transfe data from c:drive to installed 1TB external hard drive in order to clear up space on c drive and continue to use it as the master

This article will explain it. Note that you can't transfer programs and applications, only data like pictures, video and music files etc.

I just use the Copy/Paste method. For Documents folders that windows or a program may expect to be in a certain place, I just put back a shortcut in the original location to kink it with the actual new location.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
