Specs: Windows Vista
I keep getting an icon in my tray with the following error message "C:|Program Data|Microsoft|Windows is corrupt and unreadable, run chk dsk utility" I have run the check disk action (I have Windows Vista) several times and keep getting the same error. What else can be done?

What brand of harddrive is it? Download a diagnostic tool from that drive maker and run it from a bootable CD or floppy.

Data corruption can also be caused by faulty ram. so download Memtest86 and run that from a bootable CD or floppy

Download and run the free version of Malwarebytes:

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detai...

and see if it finds anything.

Real men don't use AntiVirus; they just reformat
