Hi folks,

mobo - Asus M4A78T-E

I'm prepared to purchase a DVD Writer, SATA connection.

I found;
Pioneer DVR-S18LBK 22X DVD Writer /Label Flash/SATA/

What does it mean /Label and Flash/SATA?

What will be your recommendation on maker/brand, no preset budget. TIA

P.S. Compatibility with mobo is important. Some DVD Writer can't boot DVD installer.

Hi, i never use pioneer drive so i can't say it's good or bad. I recomend liteon drive bcause they read/write cheap disk,read scratch disk. Stay away from lg and samsung i have worst experience with them.

Hi kuwese,

Thanks for your advice.

Does Liteon boot Windows installer? I had bitter experience on Sony. It didn't boot Vista installer. Therefore it was difficult for me to install Vista.

Do you know what does it mean Flash/SATA? I know SATA connection.

TIA

What is the model of the Lite-On burner you have? What is the maker of your motherboard. I have Asus M4A78T-E mobo.

Label Flash is sort of like the Light Scribe disc but a different technology. You can create labels right on the disc. read about it here - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews...
