I have tried your previously suggestion of just leaving it and sometimes the laptop springs into life after a few minutes. However, I don't think it is to do with the monitor. I can see when it is 'not' booting up that there is no disk activity, as if it waiting for something to happen. For some reason it is not starting loading Windows at all. I have tried all Dell's diagnostics tests (memory, disk, fan etc) but all report OK. What I need is a boot log if there is such a thing to see why it is not progressing.
