booting a c600 dell laptop

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 1gb
How do I...get into bios without a hardrive or ram or is this possible latop wont boot up at all it turns on for a few seconds then turns right back of nothing on screen just trying to boot into the bios to see if the motherboards any good

you don't need a hard drive but you do need RAM to boot into the BIOS

What happens when you try? Are you using a USB or PS-2 keyboard?

Are you able to navigate aroung the BIOS? What happens when you try to set the time and date? If you are able to set the time and date, are you making sure to save you setting before you exit the BIOS?

i cannot set time and date in cmos push left and right arrows or direct enter it doesnt work

try the plus & minus keys or page up page down keys.

tried that still no luck maybe ill put another keybard with a few buttons back in it and try that its got one stick of ram internal keyboard or hardrive using external keybaord its just a parts machine so maybe that could be the reason lol
