Bootable USB key???

Specs: XP 32 bit, Q6600/2gb
Is it possible to create a bootable USB thumb drive with Windows XP on it?

Why? I've purchased a netbook (Asus) which doesn't have a CD drive on it. Rather than buy and lug around an external CD, it would be great to have XP on a bootable thumb drive.

Anyone ever heard of doing this, if so, any links to a HOW

Microsoft makes every effort to not allow that to work. There are some that claim to have done that but I am not convinced.

If you wanted a full fledged portable why didn't you buy a laptop to start with? What OS is on the netbook now, Linux?

Gee, why didn't I think of that?! I didn't want a full fledged portable, that's why I bought the netbook.

Just trying to find a creative solution to having XP available for reboot/repair if necessary.

Really not worth all the effort but start with pe2usb.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
