I bought Black and White 2 yesterday after looking for a copy for quite awhile. I installed it on my laptop and began to play. The first screens came up just fine and the mouse arrow was present when I was asked to enter my name. During the first animated screen when I was asked to choose a creature, there was no mouse. I tried clicking every button I could and it was unresponsive. Both the regular mouse and touch pad as well as Esc button didn't work at all. The only way to shut the game down at that point was to hit ctrl+alt+delete . I installed both available patches (1.1 and 1.2) then tried again with the same issue. I also noticed the video was lagging at this point.
My laptop is a older but I THINK it meets the minimum requirements for the game. I am not really "up" on computers but I have basic knowledge.

Here are the system requirements for the game:

This is my laptop. It has been upgraded to 1.5gb ram as well:

Is it a problem with the video card? Can you think of a setting or tweak to help restore the game. I would need some simple instructions to adjust the video card. I know where to find the settings but I am not sure what options to adjust. I have a feeling that my laptop is just not well equipped for the game but I am hoping it is just a matter of making some adjustments.

Thanks for the help!

Follow up:
I tried the game again today and it seems the problem is not the mouse. It does eventually give a mouse option but the game is just running extremely slow and lagging. I hope there is a fix for this. I already set all the options on the game to low graphics but I don't want to mess with the graphics card without some help.

Thanks again
