Just recently I've been getting this message on start up Fast Trak 378 (tm) BIOS Version 1.00.037
(c) 2003 Promise Technology Inc, All Rights ReservedScanning IDE Drives...............
No Drives attached to FastTrak Controller, BIOS Not Installed
afterwards my computer will restart and display the same message and then restart again. It will not load windows xp at all.
I have tried disabling the Promise controller but that hasn't helped. Instead once the asus logo screen appears my computer restarts without displaying the BIOS not installed message.
Can anyone help?
If you had no BIOS, nothing would appear on the screen. If you're not going to run a RAID configuration, disable it.
The fasttrak card (or on-board fasttrak controller) is not detecting a drive attached to it so it's not loading the fasttrak bios. If you have a drive attached then likely the drive is bad or has a bad connection. Ding dong the witch is dead. . . .
