Specs: Windows 7, I7 4770k / 1600 mhz Gskill Ripjaws

I have assembled a good many pc's in the past but this latest one has me stumped..

have just bench assembled a Gigabyte G1 Sniper M5

All devices / peripherals / hard drives are Known to be good & working..
likewise with the 5 power supplies available to test with from a 500 watt to a 1000 watt. All are good...

The mainboard is a socket 1150 Gigabyte G1 Sniper M5 mini atx type & while it will Post without a problem That's as far as it goes...since it will Not detect Any hard drive/s

I have tested the hdd's separately and indeed in another machine and that pc detects them fine.
so the hard drives themselves are not an issue ..

hdd's to be used ...2 x WD 1Tb 7200rpm caviar Black
2 X WD 300Gig velociraptor 1500rpm

ideally to be used in two raid arrays

No matter what I try in the bios it will NOT detect Any of the above drives ....

.....All the sata ports are enabled in the bios ..and I have tried all available modes like Ide / Achi / Raid ....

All to no avail ..the bios simply refuses to detect them ... I have also tried every sata port individually with an optical drive and that gets detected Every time regardless of the sata port used I can rule out the likelihood that one or more of the ports are Non functional..

I even suspected the sata power lead and sata data cables but all have proved to be in working order when tested with the other pc and other devices & psu's..

as a last resort I even Q flashed the "Main" bios from factory F7 to the downloaded F9 that's updated the main bios fine,,, but as I expected it has Not solved the Non detection of Any hard drive that gets connected ..

If anyone else has come across this issue " which is quite baffling to me " I would greatly appreciate any information and help.

Kindest regards & thanking you very much in advance

You need to read the manual section on installing and configuring hard drives starting on page 57 of your manual. See the link below if you don't have the manual.
