BIOS auto-detects my HDD...

Specs: Windows XP, 3.0 ghz/2gb
.. but then shows nothing on the respective channel (just above all the IRQ's). I've tried on all 4 channels [PM, PS, SM, SS]), with the same result. Any other drive recognizes fine and is seen by the OS, so I know its not the IDE channels.

The drive does beep every 2 seconds. Any utility available to correct this?

I think your drive is bad -- hard drives do not beep

Does the drive show up in the POST screens at startup?

The drive (40gb Maxtor) auto-detects [Detecting IDE Drives...], then shows "None" on the respective channel (just before the IRQ's).

Using Hiren's Boot CD, I ran the Hard Drive Utility HDAT2 4.53 and it shows up in there, then gives an error (in which I will e-mail the results to the addy given) when I try to read/repair bad sectors.

The drive beeps, then clicks. I'm not going to use any data recovery services. Data is mostly .mp3's, just don't remember by who...

Thanks for any and all feedback
