best video card model for my pc

Specs: Windows XP
Hi, Id appreciate any help i can get with this question :) I have recently bought a computer game, that requires a 256mb minimum graphics card, and some more ram (I successfully installed ram) I have a intel pentium 4 processor, and currently the graphics / video card installed in my computer when I bought it was a nvidia vanta LT 16mb graphics card. I would like a graphics card that offers 3d gaming, and hd like performance, as I cant seem to get any more updates / upgrades for my drivers for my current nvidia vanta LT graphics card.
The PCI slots inside my pc, are made the opposite way (like as if back to front) and my AGP card slot (where the nvidia vanta LT card is just now) has a smaller size VGA capacity, metal guard at the edge, and the only AGP cards i am able to find under 60 pounds (UK money) all have a long metal guard where the VGA ports, or tv in/out part is.
I am only looking for the basic VGA port on any potential graphics cards.
My pc isnt a tower like pc, its flat like, and the long metal guard, if any would fit, well the ones ive seen are designed for tower like desktops.
My question is, for 3d gaming, what product would best suit my model of computer? Im hoping for a 512mb graphics card, but Im not sure if my pc is too old to handle it, or may need more power to use it.

Please, anyone....HELP.....!!! :)
Thank you

It sounds like you have a desktop case rather than a tower & that any PCI or AGP cards probably require a low profile mounting bracket. The card itself may also have to be low profile. I realize you're not from the US, but here's an example of what I think you need. If you look at the pics, you'll see a couple of mounting brackets are included:

BTW, the 6200 is not a good gaming card, I'm just giving this as an example of what to look for.

Oh thank you so much for getting back to me, I didn't think anyone would!!! lol
See I'm just fairly new to PCs, know a tiny bit about them, but obviously I needed more help! Thank you so so so much for your help, you have no idea how much you've helped me already...!!! I'm gonna try n see if I can get it shipped over here to Scotland. Failing that, I'll know to look for a low profile card now..!!
Again, many thanks
