Solved Best cooling pad for Lenovo Y510p laptop

February 2, 2016 at 04:14:42
Specs: Windows 10
So i think that my laptop ( Lenovo Y510p ) is overheating to much when i play games, i don't think its because of dust so i want to get a really good cooler pad for it so that i can overclock it and still not overheat it. I would pay as much as 30€. I don't need any more USB ports on it or fancy LED lighting i only want it to cool very well, oh i don't want it to be noisy to :p

So can you tel me if you have any experience with these or know any good models.
Thanks ;)

Edit: So i was looking around and i found whatever this is: http://www.amazon.com/LC05-Cooling-...
it has good reviews but i dont really trust this, is it worth buying and could i overclock my CPU with this?

Also i found a cooling pad that i like and i would like your opinion on it:
http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master...

Oh and one other thing would that OPOLAR thing work better than cooling pad since only one side of my PC is overheating?

Thanks again and have a nice day :D

No. The only purpose of laptop cooling pad is to protect laptop from overheating and user from suffering heat related discomfort.

I posted a link to the same cooling pad in your other thread. Newegg has it $15 cheaper:

"could i overclock my CPU with this?"

Most laptops cannot be overclocked, at least not thru the BIOS. You would have to use some sort of overclocking software & if I'm not mistaken, the overclock settings reset to the defaults each time the system is shutdown or rebooted, so you would have to re-overclock each time.

Overclocking of OEM computers in general and laptops in particular is a thoroughly bad idea. These computers lack just about everything that would be required for safe and effective overclocking. While it may be possible to do so the risks are high and the results rarely satisfactory.

Game performance in laptops is usually limited by the video system and there is little to nothing that can be done about that. Contrary to what the adds might claim, laptops are not game machines.
