Solved audio is not working properly

Specs: Windows 7
Hey, so as the title suggests the audio on my laptop is no longer working and shows has not given me much of an answer as to why, also as it started at the same time the audio stopped working whenever i try to watch a video on the internet the video loads but only shows screenshots instead of a fluent video. The only error message i seem to get is when i open up itunes where it says "itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly." when i go into the control panel it shows nothing wrong and that everything is working fine except when i try to test the sound it says "failed to play sound". I dont really know what else to say there was nothing wrong with it previously i just turned it on in the morning and the sound didnt work, things like games still play but just without the audio. Plus if it helps the laptop in question is an alienwareM17X10

Did you check Device Manager to make sure there's no problem with the audio drivers?

itunes sucks. I don't know how many systems I've working on where that crappy program had mucked things up. Did you just install it or update it?

Try reinstalling your motherboard chipset drivers, your audio drivers, & your graphics drivers. And make sure you have the latest available.
