audio and video choppiness then PC frozen

January 22, 2011 at 08:27:30
Specs: Windows XP
First and foremost, I have to apologize for my lack of in-depth computer knowledge. Hopefully I can describe this well enough for someone to be able to help me out. In the past 2 days any time I watch a video or listen to any audio file, already downloaded or streaming, it works great for about 10 minutes and then it starts cutting out. It starts with split second choppiness (audio and video remain in sync) and if i dont stop playing the file within another 5 minutes the choppiness has gotten so bad that it ends up freezing the computer. Its like the amount of time that the file is not playing increases each time until its totally frozen. the last couple of times, i havent even been able to bring up task manager to shut down the application. I've done security scans and there arent any issues being detected.
Any ideas?

I know it might be tricky based on the fact that i dont have the specs to give you yet but whats the best way to resolve that? are there any online downloads that would update them or would i actually need to go out and purchace new hardware or a new laptop?

i would suggest a driver update for ur video and audio.
from the link u provided u have sigmatel audio and intel HD audio
as for the video u have the intel 945GM OR ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 or X1400 or nVidia GeForce Go 7300
so which ever one u have update their drivers to the latest version
