ATI 4870 stops working - SERIOUS PROBLEM

Sapphire Radeon hd 4870 graphics card

Specs: Windows 7, Q9950 / 8 GB
Okay after I put my ASUS P5Q Deluxe on standby after BIOS update, it would not start up, so I removed the video card to reset the CMOS Battery, then put the card back in, but I think I twisted the power connectors or something, then after turning on, the video card blinks 1,3,5 and then the computer beeps, telling me theres no video card detected.

Here is the info:

I suspect its the cables, but I tested all 4 combinations of PCI-E cables out of the 2 that got twisted, same issue, and when I remove all cables from the video card, same blinking.

Is my card broken? It was working so perfectly since 2008, I don't want to waste extra 200 dollars on something I already have.

What seems to be the problem? Internet research is not helping me based on what I googled.

You mean the board has been just sitting for 2-3 yrs after you botched the BIOS flash? There's no need to remove the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS, that's what the clear RTC jumper is for. If you would have read your manual, you probably never would have had a problem. Also, you should ALWAYS unplug the power cord whenever you mess around inside the case.

As for the PCIe cables, your card probably requires two 6-pin plugs on the back end. Saying that you "twisted the power connectors or something" really doesn't give us much to go on. Did you damage the connectors on the card? Did you damage the plugs? Did you rip the wires from the plug or power supply? What exactly is the problem?

Are you 100% sure the card is fully seated in it's slot? Did you remove it & reseat it? Did you consider that the problem may be the power supply?
