Hi I'm hoping some1 might be able to help. I have an Asus PRO50 running windows xp. Initially my laptop kept freezing in normal mode we tried a system restore but the freezing problem continued. It then started freezing on the windows start up page with the scroll bar it worked sometimes when using the last known good start up function as time went on this stopped and now it will only start in safe modplease help. I have read some over posts about the blue blank screen this is not happening in my case Thank you so much :-)
Could be a couple things. Processor may be getting too hot or you may have a bad hard drive. If possible place the windows XP CD that came with your computer into the cd-rom (use a paper clip to open the drive before powering it up) and then follow the onscreen instructions. Don't choose the initial option to repair windows but proceed as if installing a fresh copy of windows. A few screens in you will have the option to repair windows. If that doesn't work (same problem exists after doing this or it doesn't even finish) I would say a bad hard drive.
