asus factory reset from startup

Specs: Macintosh
computer stuck in "attempting repairs" cycle, won't finish. is there a way to factory reset by pulling hard drive or battery?

No, you don't do it that way.

You have to press a specific key as soon as you see the ASUS splash screen at boot time. I think the key you need to press is F9, but I can't research it to find out for sure because you haven't posted the model details or the Windows version.

Why does your specs say "Macintosh" if it's an ASUS computer (which I assume is running Windows) ??

If it won't break out of the cycle, even if restarted, then this procedure might unstick it:
Disconnect from domestic power (and remove main battery if it is a laptop). Next hold the power off/on button in for about 20 seconds. If this helps then follow #1 if you still need to do factory restore.
