AOC brand Monitor has 'No Signal'

Specs: Windows 7, 800/10
I have an AOC monitor hooked into a relatively new tower. I've had the intermittent problem of the monitor reading "no signal" in a yellow box in the center of the screen. I've disconnected and reconnected the cables. I've shut down and rebooted the computer...but not in a good way since there is no monitor and no capability of doing anything to shut it down apart from hitting the power key on the tower.

I've powered the monitor on and off.

Seems to be a brand issue with the monitor, I've found similar posts with this problem with no real replies. If it's possible to trouble shoot this and get my picture back, that would be great. Usually the powerdown/powerup brings back the monitor signal, but not today. My past solution was just to leave the thing running with sleep mode enabled, and that has worked for some time. The tower itself was since powered down and now I cannot get the signal back on my monitor.

The problem is not with the monitor, it's with the tower. The reason you're seeing "no signal" is because the video card isn't sending a signal to the monitor. If the monitor didn't work, you wouldn't even see the "no signal" message!
