anyone got a samsung sh-b084l?

Asus P2b-ls motherboard

Specs: Windows XP Pro, -
I cannot find any specifications on this disc drive. it
seems to be new but even the samsungodd site
doesn't have it listed. all the shops i find it at online
say something ridiculous like "there are no specs for
this product yet". all i've found on it is that its able to
read blu-ray at 8x but not even a sniff about its dvd/cd
read/write speeds. Anyone who has this drive able to
give some detailed specs on it? I'm mostly interested
in just the dvd read and write speeds. thanks.

Well, thanks, but for one that screenshot shows info for a
Pioneer drive if I'm not mistaken, and I can't use Nero Tool to
find the specs for the drive myself mostly because I don't have
the drive (I'm not buying it until I know the specs)...

Looks like you may have a bad model number. I have seen plenty of the same listings you have. However, the Samsung site states the SH-B0843 is the first 8X blueray reader combo. Link below.

That explains a lot. Thanks. I saw the B083L on the SODD
site. I just assumed the 084L was a new model. Just goes to
show all these retailers either get their stock from the same
supplier or they copy each other's product listing details (and as
such when one gets it wrong they all do).

I bought it. It is definitely a B083L, however the retailer has stubbornly ignored my helpful suggestion to change their item listing. Useless bastages.
