Solved Any use for an HP e-pc ???

February 16, 2012 at 07:05:11
Specs: XP, P4 1.8GHZ/ 1GB
I have one of those and it's so small and cute... unfortunatelly it's only P III. What can I do with it? Any ideas? I was thinking of a media player but with PIII, I don't think so any more... Now I'm thinking of a car-puter ....
Thanks

Media Server http://xbmc.org/about ?

Obviously Linux is the way to go if want an O/S, I find Puppy Linux 5.28 great on older hardware.

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

What's wrong with a P3? In many instances, it's better than a P4. The Core 2 Duo is bascially a hopped up P3. What speed does the P3 run at? And what about the rest of the system specs?

I use an original Athlon 550 for a juke box running Winamp. Works great.

Double the RAM & install XP, or you should be able to run a lightweight version of Linux as-is.
