According the the specs, you do have 1 pci port on the board. You can also use a usb wireless adapter like these.

now how can you tell whether the slot is PCI-e 1.0 or 2.0 and can a 2.0 card go into a 1.0 slot

It's not PCI-E, it's PCI. You don't have a PCI-E slot.
